This project evolved from a discussion at theMay 2007 TB Controllers meeting. TB controllers acknowledged that having a forum to showcase innovative and productive TB control activities would enable TB programs to improve their operations, despite decreasing resources.
The Education Committee developed the Best Practices Website* for CTCA toenable local TB program staff to access information regarding what innovative TB control activities other California programs are doing and how they are conducting them.
We hope this new project will provide opportunities for local TB programs to implement new activities in their jurisdictions without having to "reinvent the wheel." Utilizing the information posted on the webpage, TB program staff can learn valuable information from their colleagues which will help improve their programs.
Education Committee members who work in a local TB program submitted the first best practices for the website. Committee members encourage staff from all local TB programs in California to submit at least one best practice from their respective jurisdictions. Please submit a best practice from your jurisdiction to the Education Committee using this template(.pdf) (click here for a Word Document). The more best practices described on this website, the more useful this project will be!
We welcome multiple submissions on a single topic or activity. Different jurisdictions do things differently; demonstrating how various programs conduct a similar activity can be helpful to other programs wishing to implement or improve a TB control activity.
