Advocacy: World Stop TB DayWorld Stop TB Day is March 24thOn March 24, 1982, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Union Against TB and Lung Disease (IUATLD) celebrated the 100th anniversary of one great landmark in the fight against TB - Dr. Robert Koch's discovery of the TB bacillus. Since 1982, March 24th has been an annual opportunity to call attention to the ongoing struggle to fight TB internationally, the devastation it still causes, and the commitment it takes to control TB. Each year, CTCA volunteers and staff assist in planning World Stop TB Day activities across California. Resources provided here are intended to support efforts to raise awareness about TB through the media to local, state, and federal policy leaders. Without our advocacy efforts, decision makers are forced to make uninformed decisions which impact the ability of California's public health force to protect the public from TB. Your participation in World Stop TB Day activities will increase awareness of the ongoing threat of TB among more communities and policy leaders. Contact CTCA to join these efforts. |
